Who We Are

Family Faith Center is a Spirit-filled, Bible-believing church located in Montebello, California.
We exist to love God, love others, and build strong families of faith.
We’re a multicultural, Christ-centered community that passionately pursues the presence of God and lives according to His Word.

We are also proud to be part of the Assemblies of God, a global fellowship of churches committed to the power of the Holy Spirit, the truth of Scripture, and the mission of Jesus Christ.

OUR MISSION

Like a tree planted by living water, our mission is to build strong families of faith—rooted in God’s Word, growing in His love, and bearing fruit for His Kingdom.

We do this by loving God, loving others, and walking in His plan.

What we believe


We hold to the 16 Fundamental Truths of the Assemblies of God, rooted in Scripture and centered on Jesus Christ.
Explore each below:

  • 1. The Scriptures Inspired

    The Bible is God’s Word—completely true and our final authority for life and faith.

     

  • 2. The One True God

    There is one true God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (the Trinity).

     

  • 3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

    Jesus is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again, and is coming back

  • 4. The Fall of Man

    Humanity was created good but sinned, causing separation from God.      

  • 5. The Salvation of Man

    Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection. It is a free gift from God.

     

  • 6. The Ordinances of the Church

    We practice two ordinances: Water Baptism and Holy Communion, both as acts of obedience and faith.

  • 7. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

    All believers can receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, empowering them to live boldly and share Jesus.  

  • 8. The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

    Speaking in tongues is the first outward sign of Spirit baptism, as seen in the New Testament.            

  • 9. Sanctification

    Sanctification is the process of growing to become more like Jesus, through the Holy Spirit.  

  • 10. The Church and Its Mission.

    The Church exists to worship God, build up believers, and share the Gospel with the world.        

  • 11. The Ministry

    God calls and equips leaders—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—for ministry and building up the Church.     

  • 12. Divine Healing

    Healing is provided in Jesus’ atonement. We believe in praying for the sick and trusting God to heal.        

  • 13. The Blessed Hope

    We eagerly await the return of Jesus for His Church—the rapture is our blessed hope.   

  • 14. The Millennial Reign of Christ

    Jesus will return to earth, defeat evil, and reign for 1,000 years in peace and righteousness.        

  • 15. The Final Judgment

    Everyone will face judgment. Those who are in Christ will spend eternity with God; others will face eternal separation.

  • 16. The New Heavens and the New Earth.

    God will create a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells, and believers will live with Him forever.     

OUR HISTORY

Family Faith Center’s roots run deep in Montebello’s spiritual history, tracing back to the Assembly of God Church officially incorporated in 1944. For nearly 80 years, this community has been committed to worship, Spirit-led teaching, and building a family of faith dedicated to loving God and others.

A key part of our story is the lasting legacy of faithful leaders like Dewell and Wanda Maxey. Dewell served as a director in the early days, and Maxey Hall - a vital space for community, worship, and growth - stands as a reflection of their shared heart for God’s house. Their love, generosity, and faith continue to inspire who we are and the future we’re building together.
